Welcome back! Let's get down to business and let me guide you through my experience at the Hotel Glare Zip Club.

One of the outside views of the hotel

The hotel looks quite nice from outside, it's in the Chikusa-ku district and next door there are Hotel Venus and Hotel Mirage. It's quite convenient in case the hotel is either full or does not have a room available that suits your needs.

Any of these three hotels mentioned above, have access on two streets, one is a main road and the other is more of a less frequented back street but nothing dodgy.

Getting in from the entrance on the back road (that's where the taxi took us) we find ourselves in an atrium with a vending machine and the elevator that took us to the Lobby.

The inside of the elevator is quite "different", padded semi-leather walls and neon orange - I'm not going to lie, I was getting a bit concerned... but then again, never judge an hotel by its elevator!

The lobby was very nice with dim lights and lots of flowers. On the back wall, images of the rooms available and on one side of the counter, the screens to check in. The elevator was right behind us and on the wall facing the lift, lots of drinks and snacks available to buy, even ice-cream, something I haven't seen so far.

OUR ROOM - 803

The room was really nice, not too big. Once you take your shoes off you walk in a small corridor where on the right side you access the bathroom and the toilet, while on the left side you get into the room. I quite liked the decor, it was different, one wall was covered in mirrors and what I thought was just a massive mirror on the wall facing the bed turned out to be a tv!! Amazing I would have never guessed.

There is a two seat sofa with a coffee table and a couple of chairs and table - ideal for eating. The room is well equipped with a small vending machine for drinks and another for 'essentials' like cotton buds, condoms and vibrators. There is also a microwave, a small fridge and a water dispenser, all hidden away inside cabinets.

You always hear people mentioning the "elephant in the room", well here it's actually the hippopotamus that is the special feature: one hippo ottoman and these super cute ornaments that I could not stop photographing.

The light panel is fairly easy to use and so is the phone. In case you need a massage, there is a magic wand there ready for you, near the phone battery charger. Condoms are available and, of course, so are face masks.

The overall feeling of the bedroom is good, the decor is quite unique with those leather pillows and the mirrored wall. You can tell it is not a new hotel but it's definitely well kept and clean.

When you move to the bathroom area, you are in for a treat. The sink counter was filled with all sort of beauty products:

  • Four products from Shiseido Le Mondor: face wash, cleansing oil, moisture lotion and moisture emulsion.

  • Three from Pola Gachi: face care lotion, styling lotion and face care wash.

  • A hair essence water from Kracie.

  • Hair spray from Kao

  • Four samples of lotions from Gioiello

And if this is not enough, there are also two boxes of essentials for women and men.

In the 'wet area' of the bathroom you have a deep Jacuzzi with lights inside, a rain shower and the sauna. The actual space for the shower and the sauna are on the small side, but they are great extras that we loved to have and enjoy. There are also some extra products for your bath time relax:

A Dyson Hair drier is there for you to use (and try if you have ever considered buying one) and so are fresh towels.

These two nightgown sets are there for you to use, so you can get rid of your day clothes and totally relax. Keep in mind that the size is for an average Japanese size woman, so in my case, I was not able to wear the sexy shorts and the night gown didn't fit properly... too bad, cause it would have looked really cute.

Whenever you are ready to check out, you can do so through the TV. You select the 'door knob' icon and it will show you how much you are due to pay. In our case it also said that we could stay in the room until 23.47 for the same amount, but we had to leave. You select the blue button that says "check out" and press enter. At this point the front door will unlock and you can go down to the lobby to pay.

Once there, insert your room key card and you will see the same amount displayed in your room and you can proceed and pay either cash or with a credit card. Ah I forgot to mention that the way you get out is not the same of the one you get in to avoid bumping into people. This is common in almost all the hotels.

So here is how I rate my experience: the hotel and the room decor are very nice and as I said, it may not be a brand new hotel but it's very well kept. It was very clean and access and exit were easy to find. Payment also wasn't complicated. Even if a little small, the rain shower and the sauna were great features that I didn't expect to find and the collection of products deserves 5 stars. I will definitely go back to check out other rooms, maybe in different styles.

I would suggest check out their official website:

I hope you've enjoyed the tour, drop me a line any time.
